AI Credit Ledger — Privacy Policy

AI Credit Ledger is a local-first Chrome extension for recording AI-tool credit balances, transactions, project cost estimates and expiry reminders. You enter the records yourself. The extension does not read websites, browsing history or other tabs.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores the AI-tool names and prices, credit balances and transactions, project names and categories, estimated costs and revenue, notes, language and reporting-currency preferences, and reminder settings that you enter. These records are kept in Chrome extension local storage on your device. The extension does not send them to the developer or third parties and does not use analytics, advertising trackers or cloud synchronization.

How data is used

Your entries are used to calculate balances and project cost estimates, display the overview and transactions, and identify upcoming or overdue credit refresh and expiry dates. If you opt in to browser notifications, a notification may show an AI-tool name. You can decline or disable notification permission; the remaining functions still work. Reminder timing depends on Chrome running and your device being awake.

Backups, retention and deletion

You may export a JSON backup or CSV report manually. JSON backups may contain project and financial information; the downloaded files are under your control and are not uploaded by the extension. Imports use only the file you select. Records remain in local extension storage until you reset them or uninstall the extension. Export a backup before uninstalling; uninstalling normally removes local extension data. You can edit or delete records within the extension.

Security and changes

The extension requests only storage, alarms and side-panel permissions for its core functions, with optional notifications. It has no website-access permission or remote-code execution. Protect access to your device and any exported backup files. If data handling changes, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the new practice is introduced.

Use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
